The Texas Rangers left Cincinnati outscored 14-5 by the Reds, but the Rangers won the three-game series thanks to another 1-0 win Wednesday. Jack Leiter was the pitching hero in the series finale, tossing five scoreless innings on one hit. His second start of the season was cut short by a developing blister that the Rangers didn’t want to chance getting any worse. Four relievers from a rested bullpen, including closer Luke Jackson, finished off the win, which marked the first time in Rangers history the team had won back-to-back 1-0 games. The offense, obviously, is struggling. The expectation is that the bats will get going, but that was the expectation all of last season.
