Things don’t always go as planned, as the Texas Rangers discovered Monday night against the Angels. Jacob deGrom turned in his worst start of the season, allowing five runs in 5 1/3 innings, and the Rangers’ offense misfired in a few key spots in a 6-4 loss to open a seven-game homestand. The six-game losing streak came to an end as the Angels hit two homers off of deGrom, the Rangers’ lone All-Star this season. The offense tried, with Josh Jung connecting for a home run, but too many mistakes and Joc Pederson’s inability to come through led to the loss. Patrick Corbin takes the mound tonight, so the Rangers like their chances.
