The Texas Rangers had Jacob deGrom on the mound Sunday with a chance to win the season-opening series from the Boston Red Sox. The right-hander delivered, so did Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia, and the bullpen did the rest in a 3-2 victory. DeGrom tossed five scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and two walks, and he made an adjustment that resulted in six strikeouts. He said afterward that he still isn’t where he wants to be with his mechanics, but he’s closer to where he wants to be. John Rhadigan held down the fort until I, leader of the DLLS Sleeper standings, made my way back from the clubhouse. All in all, a good series, and now the Rangers are off to Cincinnati to watch Kumar Rocker make his 2025 debut Monday.
