The Texas Rangers needed their offense to improve after last season, and not from just internal improvements. That led them to Joc Pederson, who will be the primary designated hitter at a spot where the Rangers were the worst in the American League. He could hit in the middle of the lineup, which should be bolstered by the return of Josh Jung, a rebound by Adolis Garcia and another newcomer, Jake Burger. The Rangers could have one of the best lineups in the American League and baseball. The rotation should be very good, too, especially if Jacob deGrom is healthy for 20 to 25 starts.
