The non-tender deadline arrives Friday, and that could spell the end of Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim’s time with the Texas Rangers. Strictly as a baseball decision, it makes complete sense to part ways with two of the least productive hitters in the league the past two seasons, especially with each due a raise in salary arbitration. However, cutting ties with two players who are central pieces to the 2023 World Series championship team will be difficult. Garcia and Heim are two of eight players eligible for salary arbitration and might not be the only two candidates to be non-tendered.
