The Texas Rangers went for a sweep of the Rays on Sunday with Kumar Rocker on the mound, seeking to rebound from a lousy 2025 debut six days earlier. He did, with five scoreless innings, but the Rangers needed more help from their bullpen and a walk-off single from Jonah Heim to produce a 4-3 victory. Heim was given the opportunity with two outs in the ninth inning after Josh Smith legged out a double to extend the game. Heim had quite a day, including a stolen base and a run scored as the bottom of the lineup helped fuel the victory. Well, and Corey Seager connected for his first home run as the Rangers improved to an American League-best 8-2 record.
