Maybe the $5.5 million signing bonus Joc Pederson received, as reported by The Associated Press, put a smile on his face during his introductory news conference (Abby Jones/DLLS Sports).

The two-year, $37 million contract Pederson signed last week included a $5.5 million signing bonus that will help keep the Rangers from hitting the luxury tax.
