The prevailing thought entering Sunday was that Jacob deGrom, after allowing five runs in a start last week at Anaheim, would rebound with a nice outing in the series finale against the Mariners. Three Seattle homers, though, sent deGrom to another loss and a second straigth start with five runs allowed. The Rangers lost 5-4 and won only once in the four-game series againsttheir American League West rival. The bullpen did well after deGrom left, with Hoby Milner and Cole Winn combining for three scoreless frames. Corey Seager homered for the Rangers, who finished their seven-game road trip with a 2-5 record but lost only two games in the standings to the Mariners. Next up is a long homestand, nine games, and it begins Monday against the Yankees.
