The Texas Rangers won a road series for only the third time this season Sunday, beating the Nationals 4-2 in a game highlighted by Evan Carter’s hitting and a nice day from the bullpen. Jacob Latz started a bullpen game and allowed two runs in 3 1/3 innings, and Evan Carter hit a two-run homer, a double and a single. Jake Burger was also a triple shy of the cycle, and his solo homer late in the game gave the Rangers some breathing room. The Rangers headed to Minnesota after the game for a three-game series that begins Tuesday against a Twins team that is very good at home. The Rangers are very bad on the road, but perhaps the Nationals series has sparked something.
