The national pundits, and those just writing and saying stuff to get web clicks and YouTube views, haven’t been paying attention to the Texas Rangers‘ offseason. They have been on the record for more than a month about having a smaller payroll than in 2025, yet outside of the Rangers beat crew, the club continues to be linked to high-priced free agents. That includes closer Edwin Diaz. Never mind that the Rangers rarely spend on a closer. So, we’re here to set the record straight with the hope that our insider knowledge spreads far and wide, and we also give some more realistic options for the Rangers to choose from to fill their needs.
