The unimaginable continues to be imagined by the Texas Rangers, who keep winning despite having their biggest offensive starts sidelined by injury. On Monday, Michael Helman did the unimaginable with a grand slam, the first of his career and the Rangers’ first of the season, in a 5-0 win over the Brewers. Helman later drove in the fifth run with an RBI double. Jacob Latz tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings to lead the combined shutout. He started the season in the minors, while Helman started the season in the Twins organization. The win moved the Rangers closer to first place in the American League West while staying 1 1/2 games behind the Mariners for the final wild-card spot. All three teams have some tough series ahead over the final three weeks of the season.
