The Texas Rangers’ first series against a division opponent did not go well as they were swept in three games by the Mariners. The main problem remains the offense, or lack thereof, but some unexpected mound issues popped up, too. It’s not that Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi were bad Friday and Sunday, but with no margin for error, they weren’t good enough. Kumar Rocker struggled Saturday. The offense’s woes are centered around Marcus Semien, Joc Pederson and Jake Burger, all hitting below .200. Pederson is hitting below .100 and is of more concern to the Rangers than Semien in the leadoff spot.
