The All-Star break was on its last day Thursday, and the Texas Rangers‘ season resumes Friday to kick off a nine-game homestand against the Tigers, A’s and Braves. The homestand ends less than a week before the July 31 trade deadline, so it would behoove the Rangers to play well and leave no doubt that president of baseball operations Chris Young should add pieces rather than sell off. The Rangers need to fortify the bullpen with a strikeout-minded reliever, and they could strike for a controllable starter to help get a jump on the 2026 roster. A veteran, part-time bat might be on the wishlist, but the Rangers need to hope that Joc Pederson and Josh Jung can be productive players.
