The Texas Rangers couldn’t finish off a three-game sweep of the Yankees, losing 3-2 on Wednesday. The losing pitcher was … Robert Garcia. Yes, him again. He allowed a homer for a third straight appearance, this time in the seventh, and the Rangers couldn’t solve a worn-out Yankees bullpen. Jack Leiter wasn’t great. The offense did OK against left-hander Carlos Rodon, generating 10 base runners, but he was bailed out by two key double plays. The heart of the Rangers’ lineup — Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia — struggled in the series, though Seager and Semien were better Wednesday. Garcia, though, couldn’t come through with runners on, including his game-ending strikeout. The Phillies are up next for the Rangers, who will enjoy an off day Thursday before beginning the three-game interleague series.
